Paperless Technology For Saving Trees and Environment

When you consider that it takes 12 trees to produce a ton of paper whereas one mature tree can give oxygen to 10 people for a year, it shows the significant value that a tree provides. Now there is a paperless technology, Electronic Ink.
This can especially benefit the publishing industry given that only 5% of the paper in books is recycled, 35% of books returned to publishers ends up in landfills and a whopping 75,000 trees are needed to produce just one edition of the Sunday New York Times.
E Ink’s electronic ink technology is used in e-books which can store hundreds of magazines, book titles and newspapers within a portable device. The electronic reader has the look and feel of a book as the visual display has an ink on paper appeal, unlike the LCD display, using no backlight. It can be used in any light condition with very little power. One battery charge can provide for around 7,000 page turns.
